February 10th, 2019 – Learn how to cook a complete Italian menu!
TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice top experience is a cooking class in Italy. We would agree with that but for those of you who can’t swing that this year, Abacus will provide you an opportunity to immerse yourself in Italian cooking in one day. You may not get a walking tour of Rome or a pasta-making lesson with a Tuscan chef, but you can learn your way around an Italian kitchen with this full-day experience.
Italy is a country of great diversity and is made up of twenty provinces. Each has a very unique personality with dialect customs, traditions, architecture and of course food and wine that vary greatly from region to region. From the hot dry south to the cool alpine foothills, the regional cuisines are as varied as the climate. The golden hills of saffron in the Abruzzi lend a zesty spice to local risotto, while the bay of Naples is renowned for its Frutti di mare and Mozzarella di bufala. Visitors to Tuscany can sample rustic delicacies like truffles and porcini mushrooms in the autumn. Hearty soups in the winter and lemony colomba cakes or asparagus risotto in the spring around Easter. read more

About the Dirty Dozen Cooking Class
What is it like to work alongside some of the most celebrated chefs in Dallas? The Dirty Dozen cooking classes are your exclusive opportunity to learn secrets and practice techniques taught by the masters themselves. Since 1999, the Dirty Dozen is one of Dallas’ most coveted events.
Upon arrival at the Dallas 5-star restaurant, Dirty Dozen students don their personalized chef’s coats to begin hands-on instruction. The students are divided into four teams:

Your Dirty Dozen cooking class team spends a Sunday preparing one of four courses or a fabulous buffet. Abacus is closed so you have the run of the kitchen. The day culminates in an intimate dinner with paired wine and the opportunity to share the experience with one invited guest of your choice. You’ll walk away as a Dirty Dozen alum with a new or rejuvenated appreciation for extraordinary cuisine and knowledge that only comes with learning from the masters.
